You turn up to court on the day.........the registrar asks you a few questions, and then your divorce will be final in one month and one day from the day you went to court. Either way, you can't avoid the 12 month separation period. It's not even necessary to see a solicitor if you don't want to. Just be nice, divide everything in half, and file it with the family court. You don't even need to show up at court.
