Each state has there own rules from 21 days to 1 year. you need to be able to prove you both have your own places for that time. better look at doing a divorce agreement , a paper that says he gets . she gets. we plan on doing a divorce as soon as we can and all expenses wil be split xxx way. you can get out of from under 500 if you can both be grown ups and play nice for a few hours to do a non contested. i like legal zoom.com there are others but they also have lots of Free Correct advice there. good luck.

I think you can file at anytime. Not sure, never been divorced.

Depends on what state you live in. In PA you can file after 3 months but in NC you must be seperated for 1 year before you can file. Need more information to answer your question.

You dont even have to be seperated but i normally use the guidlines of 72 hours. I am on my 9th.

I am sorry to hear that.

2 years I believe (financially it is less expensive after 2 years). You can get divorced more quickly but it costs more. I’m sorry I can’t bespecific about amounts – suggest seeing a solicitor for advice.

I am pretty sure there is no waiting period. My friend and her husband are divorcing and they have kids so he was still living in the house (big house) and they proceeded it while he was there. Good luck and sorry.

In Louisiana, you can file at any time, but it will be finalized when you’ve been separated for a minimum of 6 months, 12 if you have children under the age of 18.

Depends on your state.

I got divorced in Texas and there was no required separation time.

Go to the library and get the papers and file them with your local courthouse, or get a lawyer.

It’s different in every state.

As soon as you can get to the lawyers office and had him the cash

In my state there is no such thing as a "separation", nor is it a prerequisite for a divorce anywhere that I know of. You can get a divorce anytime you want. There usually is a waiting period before the divorce becomes final (one year in our state) l but even this can be waved (in my state).

6 months, 3 weeks, 5 days, 14 hours, and 27 minutes. The countdown begins.

LJai March 9, 2010 at 9:03 pm

File now. It will take time for it to be final.

Ocimom March 9, 2010 at 9:03 pm

Depends on what your state laws say. For me we had to be physically separated (in different residences) for one year before the divorce paperwork could be filed.

icewitch54 March 9, 2010 at 9:03 pm

In the UK it is two years from the date of seperation.
