How does a divorce affect a young adolescent?

I am not married, and never experienced a divorce in my family – but I am very curious, what is it like as a young person as they are starting to form themselves and be aware of their own unique person such as a 10 or 11 year old for someone who has experience in that?

Christie Brucks September 2, 2010 at 9:02 am: it changed my life for the worst. i was 14. i stopped going to sports practice (volleyball, softball, and other). nobody seemed to care. nobody seemed to even notice. it changed my life forever in a horrible way.
