How can a spouse file an answer for divorce when she is out of state?

by Bob on March 10, 2010

If I file a petition for divorce in Florida (18th district, Seminole County) and my wife says she will not contest it, how can she file her "answer and waiver" if she lives out of state? Can she mail it to me for filing? Or is there an address she should send it to herself?

I couldn’t find anything prohibiting her from having the answer and waiver signed and notarized out of state, then mailed to you. I am including a link in the source window. It lists contact numbers for assistance.

either way could be done, and if you all have a hearing, she can ask the judge to be able to attend by phone. i have done it before. but i would have her send the answer to the petition to you and then you take it down there. that way you know it got there
